Evacuating with two children with no warranties of safety

That day, the morning began with something that I didn’t expect and didn’t believe. I woke up from the sounds. It was like explosions somewhere nearby. A little later, my children woke up. Anya (my daughter) immediately read a message on Viber from Varya (her classmate); she also came from the Donetsk region as we, the girl wrote, “We may not see each other again, I’m leaving far and for a long time, and you have to leave.” 

They left, and we stayed. It’s not easy to leave when you are alone with two children and without a car. Today, it’s even more challenging to do this. We wanted to leave the hot spot. I quickly found a taxi to the district at a triple rate, but the driver did not give any guarantee, “we just go, and that’s it.” 

Now we are cut off from reality; we don’t own information and therefore cannot protect ourselves. 

Therefore, while I am here, the children are under stress; they see the situation and that I am nervous. In general, it’s quiet in Vyshgorod, but you still can’t call the maximum proximity to Kyiv safe.
